Throwing in the towel on #M45. Was a good lesson! Too hard from DC's skies. Can't get rid of this gradient in #PixInsight :(
Had hubris here on going for a broadband target after my success on #M42, not realizing how much my UHC filter was saving the day.
Also this Canon 1100D's dark bars bug is on its way out-- going to swap for an entry level cooled cam - ASI944MC Pro clone.
Still love the tight stars from autoguiding! Anyone have success with #Pleiades from a #bortle9? #astrophotography

I'm still working on learning the best shoot profile for Pleiades #M45 in #bortle9 skies, but I'm really excited about this picture -- it looks like my Celestron AVX mount, polar camera, and guide scope are all really appropriate for each other, and I have a great combo for learning autoguided shots! This guide error looks really really promising -- this is with the medium size #svbony #sv503 80ED rather than the wider field 70mm I was testing. #astrophotography #astrodon

@thx8411 I used a 2 or 3x Barlow I believe on this one! Say I believe because I have both and took poor notes :)
For planetary I have a svbony sv305 pro https://telescopeguides.com/svbony-sv305-pro-review/ and for deep sky (dont get the chance to do it often in #bortle9 DC) but have a canon T3 DSLR. Avx mount, and use sharpcap/autostakkert/registax to process
Hello! Time for an #introduction related to #astrodon
My name is Ryder; I fell in love with amateur #astronomy as a kid in darker Arizona skies. Family couldn't afford a scope, so I taped two binoculars together and looked at the moon.
I do what I can to learn under #bortle9 skies in Washington DC - not easy! I use a #Celestron 6" on an AVX EQ mount and shoot with an f/6.3 reducer, Canon T3, and for planetary a Svbony sv305 pro.
Likely will share my captures from this account!
