“Total Recall” is so very VERY Verhoeven. It also has one of the most Philip K Dick moments in a Philip K Dick (that isn’t “scanner darkly”). But god it’s *so* Verhoeven. #BostonSciFi

“Alien” is still just so good. Gorgeous art direction, fabulous Giger-ness, tight plot, excellent direction. Still holds up. #BostonSciFi

I think “Bill & Ted Face the Music” is a film that works entirely because women playing the daughters are so utterly charming in their roles. #BostonSciFi

Oh no! #BostonSciFi has a defective disc of Happy Accidents, so we won’t be able to see the old movie I was most looking forward to revisiting. Marisa Tomei, Vincent D’Onofrio, Holland Taylor and a lovely script. I’m gonna have to rent it later this week or something.

DAMMIT! “Happy accidents” was the movie at #BostonSciFi I most wanted to see, but turn out the disc is defective. Unhappy accident, to be sure.

In general, I love Claire Danes as an actress and Nick Stahl is solid but wow Terminator 3 manages to pour a lot of expensive action scenes onto the screen and make them remarkably unremarkable. #BostonSciFi

The Spanish film “Everyone Will Burn” (English title) answers the question “what if you did a mash-up of “Rosemary’s Baby” and a telenovela with extra Catholicism?” #BostonSciFi

I’m at the opening night of #BostonSciFi and we just screened the documentary Doctor Who Am I. (We’ve been told by filmmakers through the years that we’re a really good audience. In this case we saw the production company credit American Anorak and chuckled, and they knew they were in good hands. 💕)
