When I was a kid our local supermarket had their own deposit-refund system for wine bottles. Sadly, the supermarket was sold to a big chain and the idea was lost.
Now a German organic winery fill their wine into returnable standard 0.5-litre beer bottles with crown caps. The empty bottles can be returned at vending machines in almost any supermarket.
Sometimes things can be so easy!

I well remember saving up glass ‘brown lemonade’ bottles to fund big item pocket money purchases, when the time was right to cash in the 6d #bottleDeposit
…that’s 2.5p for anyone who’s not a #boomer!

Each bottle was worth 25%of my weekly pocket money of 2/-
…& the deposit was a much higher fraction of the lemonade retail price than is proposed today.
