Check this Different View paper ”Why do we fear bottles and pacifiers?”,about the extension of the BabyFriendlyHospital advices for neonatal care, discouraging pacifier and bottle use.
I tend to agree to most in this commentary - there are such large research gaps around how preterm infants learn to feed.
BTW, pacifiers are like SOC in our unit :)
