I'm going to be presenting at re:Invent this year with @dtaivpp!
It's a hands-on workshop using the trinity of #OpenSearch, #Bottlerocket, and #FluentBit on #Kubernetes (EKS).
(If you're registered, please ❤️ the session, it will help it get more visibility and maybe more seats.

This thursday (8/24) I'm presenting on _Container Optimized Linux: The best idea you’re probably not using_ at DevOps Columbia.
It's online, so please attend if you're interested in #Bottlerocket and other container optimized Linux distros.
(A little sneak peak at the slides)
If you're interested in #Bottlerocket OS, we're hosting a community meeting in 25 minutes! It'll cover some upcoming changes for #ECS and k8s.

#Bottlerocket OS has it's own website now! It's been a long term project and I'm excited that it's now public.
I'm presenting virtually on #Bottlerocket OS at meetup in August.
You should RSVP and attend.
The film scored the worst test screening points in the history of Columbia Pictures at the time.

Neat to see #bottlerocket in lwn.
Two news stories this week and it's only Tuesday!
"Are you heavily invested in the API-first AWS or Kubernetes world? Then Bottlerocket seems to be the best fit."
My first #introduction post!
Computers since 2004, programming since 2007/8, systems since 2010, working full-time in computers since 2018.
I'm a pretty quiet mastodon user -- reading and boosting mostly, however I do like to talk about systems and human-computer interaction (#hci ). I like tinkering with my #homelab.
Currently learning #bottlerocket, #rust, and #kubernetes.

Glad to see #Bottlerocket called out in this article on The New Stack.

I know that my toots veer a little more into my at-home geekery rather than my at-work geekery, but I think you should attend the #Bottlerocket OS meetup this Wednesday.

I must say, the uptick on immutable linux OS is a very nice progression. 😄
Since I got my taste of #CoreOS pre Red Hat, I been using different types to get what works for me. Just to name a few:
- #OpenSUSE #MicroOS
- #TalosOS
- #AWS #BottleRocket
- #Fedora #SilverBlue
- #NixOS

When I talk about #Bottlerocket, a lot of folks get confused by the concept of 'variants'.
You can think about a variant as a batteries-included bootable image that will be ready to join a norchestrated cluster as soon as it starts.
Still, it's integrates a lot of things and it's a bit hard to visualize. So... I made an animated gif. Enjoy!

First, in #Bottlerocket - I'm trying to get the best information to the team.
It has a concept of a 'variant' which is a bundle of specific stuff for an architecture/orchestrator/cloud. Anyone can create their own.
Our GH issue form is leaning towards having a variant dropdown, but I'm a little stuck on how that would work for variants that aren't directly built by the 1st party team.
I don't want to lump everyone else under "custom" but a fill in the blank doesn't really help.
