Very much recommending this new book by Duncan Mackay to you all.... it's a superb read with a lot of new information and written in a lovely style.
There's enough precise detail for archaeologists/historians, but it is also a cracking good read with plenty of humour... one of those fabulous books that not only educates, but entertains!!

For #WomensMonth - if you don’t know about Queen #Boudica you should. She was likely one of the most #badass #women in #history. She led an army of 100,000 early Brittons against Rome’s Legio IX Hispana (who had led Julius Caesar’s conquer of Europe) and defeated them. In the process she #burned early #London to the ground.

Really loved this conversation with B. Lorraine Smith - she asks such generative, generous questions...
So if you've ever wanted to know about the origins of the #Boudica #Dreaming series of historical novels - particularly how the dreaming works in the 21st century and how mapping backwards lets us map forwards - here it is.
(and huge thanks to Garry Turner for introducing us)

#Boudica, #Boudicca or #Boadicea? 1 thing we can say for certain, Boadicea is a typo – at least, the mediaeval monkish equivalent. #Tacitus wrote Boudicca – …
