I am not an active ham (KB0ZMS), but I am frustrated by the DQRM directed at the Bouvet Island DXpedition (3Y0J). I just cannot wrap my head around what anyone gains from blocking others from gaining a rare one, plus all the mean-spirited griping and general nastiness. People can be so disappointing.

The Radio Amateur's Code starts with “never knowingly operates in such a way as to lessen the pleasure of others.”

2023-02-13 received the #FT8 QSO of the #3Y0J the #BouvetIsland DXpedition. Challenging reception from a pile of signals on 17m. Distance - 12266 km. Urban SWLing in #Vilnius with #sdrplay RSPdx, #nooelec LaNA HF & DIY NCP Loop (in a balcony), SDRUno, JTDX.

Damn I sure hope this is the real deal and not a pirate!
Hex heading, frequency and propagation all match.
15m was a gong show complete with self-appointed FT8 cops & I couldn't hear 3Y0J at all.

magnitude 5.7 #earthquake at #BouvetIsland in the south Atlantic ocean 30 minutes ago (2022-12-02Z12:35). Nice earthquake - not dangerous, nobody hurt! This means that you can enjoy the aesthetics of the seismograms. This is from the @geofon station GE.SNAA on #Antarctica and obtained with @obspy software from GFZ Potsdam. Station South for earthquake so North-South component looks like the vertical for the P-wave. Really beautiful signal!
