@matty

True. @Erased_Citizen went to a new market stall a while back, and @keefeglise has been in to the office a number of times, if memory serves.

@jaz told us all about @rugby .

@tess_machling got us talking about colleges.

@Welshracer

I haven't looked in the supermarkets, myself. I don't recall ever buying one.

Interestingly: I just tried to find what I think to be the generic equivalent: Mister Choc Hazelnut & Choco. _That_ seems to have been quietly discontinued.

I should add the odd observation that everyone seems to be out of too. It's not just the discontinuance of the 3L bottles in Iceland.

Several places didn't have any of the smaller sizes of Pepsi, either. Coca cola, and their own brands, yes. But the Pepsi shelves are empty.

The only place selling them I encountered was Wilko, charging over £2 for a 0.5L bottle (and not the price on the Wilko WWW site).

I've already mentioned and the quiet discontinuance of product lines at Iceland.

Another shopping surprise is that very few stores sell rechargeable batteries, and even the ones that do have very little stock and mostly empty hooks. Loads of non-rechargeable ones, but so far, from Robert Dyas to Lidl, almost no rechargeable ones, and none of the size that I am looking for.

(...Continued)

No more large bottles of Coke and Pepsi; no more large packs of corned beef; no more salmon, broccoli & pea risotto.

Yes, has problems, but it's not the only store to sell food from freezers.

Thanks to 250g jars are rare and 500g jars are close to being collectors' items. The shortages of et al. are widely reported.

What isn't reported so widely is the quiet gradual cessation of long-standing product lines, which I only discovered by noticing my favourites list shrinking on the Iceland app. Sneakily, the app simply deletes unavailable favourites instead of listing them as out of stock.

I found a tin of peeled plum at the back of my cupboard this morning. (I was reorganizing the cupboard, not looking for tomatoes.) The best before date on the tin pre-dates the Brexit referendum. So they should be alright. (-:

I still need to get a new jar of Bovril, though.
