So #Reddit is going to change the rules so that #moderators can be removed by the users of a subreddit. This is a self-serving move. They do not care about #democracy. What they want is the blackout to end. They could remove the moderators themselves, but that might backfire.

The quotes from the execs at Reddit strike me as what tin pot dictators might say.

In other boycott news, while leaving Reddit is making me sad, I'm actively pleased to be boycotting Target. They had so much queer-friendly goodwill compared to the other retailers, and have thrown it away to keep active terrorists as customers and drive away their queer customers.

I may feel less pleased to be shunning Target next time I have to buy pants, but I'll figure it out. I cannot believe I tolerated Target employing private security people for SO LONG, and then the second an actual threat happens, Target crumples like a wet piece of paper. It disgusts me. Boooooooo.

I’ve been offloading on my Obsidian’s second brain all of my saved posts/comments from Reddit, in preparation for the blackout (especially since I don’t think I’ll be wanting to use the platform ever again). And let me tell you, 9 years of saving random shot is a hell of a long time, but there’s quite some fascinating stuff in here!

I will never use the official Reddit app or “new Reddit”.

The only exception is if I include “Reddit” with Google queries. But if I’m forced to use New Reddit for that, I won’t write any replies, or posts, or even “like” anything.
