Z počátku se obvykle všechno dobře daří. Ale jen málokdy v dějinách lidí, malých městeček a velkoměst bývá dobrý i konec. Všechno se začíná rozpadat, tučnět, rozlézat. Doba se vymyká z kloubů. Mléko kysne. Dráty na vysokých sloupech přenášejí v noci za padající mlhy špatné zprávy. Voda v průlivech slepne šlemem. Křešeš pazourkem, a on nevydá ani jiskřičku. Dotkneš se ženy, a nepocítíš sebemenší teplo. Náhle je po létu.

Acabamos de ver #Fahrenheit451, basada en el libro de Ray #Bradbury y dirigida por François#Trauffaut en1966.
Una sociedad alienada, sometida a un régimen que quema los libros porque son “fuente de desigualdad”, de “diferenciación”, de “sufrimiento”.
Así, se crea una sociedad secreta de “hombres libro”, personas evadidas, prófugas, ocultas, que memorizan una novela completa y la trasmiten a otros, para perseverar así en la resistencia de ese libro.

@jackbarrow @bigbeardedbookseller @kiplet There were a ton of influential #sciencefiction authors being published in the early 50s alongside #Asimov. #Bradbury, #Clarke, and #Heinlein are the best known, but there was also E.E. “Doc” Smith, Cliff Simak, Theodore Sturgeon and a number of others. I admit they can often seem awkward by today’s standards since they tended to focus more on big ideas than characters. Different time, different style.

The #circus is back in town. It always reminds me of the #bradbury story ‚something wicked the way comes‘. Russ from LA lent me a second hand copy of the book in Yosemite, when I met him at Camp4. He also gave me a tent, because I just arrived with a sleeping bag. I put up the tent and he said: ‘Don’t let the bears in.’ So circus, bears and California always stick together in my associations.
