I just spent 30 minutes reworking my personal letterhead to use #AtkinsonHyperlegible #typeface from the #BrailleInstitute. It's a typeface that is designed with extremely clear letterforms and (a personal favorite) a slash-zero.

My vision is outstanding (well, other than being over 40 and so seeing an indistinguishable blob at less than a meter), but ... why not make it easier? I appreciate the role of typefaces in design elements, but for general text go with accessibility!

The Braille Institute has released a free font designed to provide greater readability to those with limited eye-sight.

For my own curiosity, I’d be very interested to see if this font provides meaningfully greater readability over other standard fonts. So if you, or someone you know, has limited eyesight and would be willing to test this font out and provide feedback, my curious mind will be very very grateful.

If this does provide a meaningfully better user experience for limited eyesight folks, I think this could really enhance accessibility across the web!

I just found out about this new font called "Atkinson Hyperlegible" by the #BrailleInstitute. I'm a font geek/snob and think it's incredible. It's designed to be relaxingly easy to read and to differentiate different letters even when blurry or by people with various vision impairments.

I read myself to sleep most nights with Kindle and without reading glasses & this would help.
