Do you know how some bartenders will cut a customer off when they’ve had enough? I guess tattoo artists never do that, huh?

I don't know which is worse...

Are standup comics who refer to themselves as 'artists' less funny than those who don't?

This is meant as an example. It applies to other interactions. The spectrum between "per my last email" in professional, formal, or stranger interactions, and "Are you on drugs?" is fascinating to me. I would absolutely respond with "are you high?" to some of my friends, but not work colleagues. So there is a point on the spectrum where the "appropriateness" of a response changes. Call it the "last email on drugs" spectrum.

When someone does me wrong, I tend to cut the person some slack.

None of this '3 strikes and you're out' business, though.

They only get 2 strikes.

I couldn't tell you the last time I heard someone say the word 'lariat.'

Just to be clear,
"Where's Larry at?" doesn't count.

Shame shaming is shaming someone for having no shame.

For obvious reasons, it has no effect whatsoever.

I'm as guilty as anyone, but we waste so much time focusing on what billionaire narcissists have to say.

We're just reinforcing their bad behavior, aren't we?

Not to mention the fact that what they say today might be the exact opposite of what they say tomorrow.

But, it's so hard to look away, isn't it?

Still very much perplexed by Mastodon, but can understand the basics of it at least.

It's like Twitter and Tumblr had a baby.
