Ideas for activities to help recover function from right-hemisphere stroke -- activating left hand, recovering left visual field, improving hand-eye coordination and coordination in general, sensory stimulation, tactile feedback... all these things can be found in dollar and thrift stores and possibly already in your own home. I'll be posting about each one (eventually) in this thread. #stroke #recovery #BrainHacks #hemianopsia #ElderCare #DIY #OccupationalTherapy #PhysTher

Listening to the audio book of Unfu*k Yourself and henceforth my self-talk will be assertive and pronounced in a thick Glaswegian accent. #BrainHacks
I've been thinking and basically, I need some sort of brain implant/module which can index my thoughts, redact sensitive data and export metrics, events, logs and traces, to my locally hosted grafana instance.
Imagine being able to graph your thoughts without any additional cognitive load! I'd be unstoppable! #ADHD #AuDHD #BrainHacks (literally 😅)

Exploit the fact you’re easily distracted by controlling what’s in front of you.
Put a post-it on your monitor with today’s focus (phrased in an interest-grabbing way, not guilt-inducing)
Close email, etc at the end of day. Open the file you want to work on. Make sure the top browser tab triggers the thing you want to do tomorrow.
Leave out the paper you need to read somewhere you’ll see it passing by. Or next to a cozy reading spot, with highlighters nearby.
Notice something needs cleaning but now is not the time? Put cleaning supplies out next to it for next time you wander past.
And if you’re distracted by something that isn’t relevant, shove it in a box/closet/“deal with this later” pile
Clearly my house is a mess, but it works for me.
procrastinating going outside by browsing social media
get pinged by my bot asking what I'm doing
the shame of telling it that I'm procrastinating forces me to actually go outside
