He studied 8 biomedical research labs for a year or two - recording lab meetings, analyzing transcripts to understand how scientific discoveries are made. He focused on unexpected results as particularly interesting moments in science. Shaped my thinking about #brainresearch - eg have a soft spot for #neuroimaging because activity can be discovered in unexpected places.
