Orange and caraway #cake disaster... No #brandy! Both strange as I remember I bought a bottle but also not strange as it wasn't last week I bought it.

Surprisingly there was exactly 2 tablespoons more #Amaretto in the cupboard than I needed which I think will work well (ground almonds being very much present). And also 2 tablespoons left over that needs a home. Needed I mean. Needed.

Opinion: I know the conventional “wisdom” is that only aged spirits can be sipped neat but I am here to say “utter hogwash” to that. Any spirit can be sipped neat, it’s just about the quality of the ingredients and skill of the distiller. I enjoy sipping #Rum (both aged and unaged, as well as spiced), #Gin, #Brandy and #Whisky/#Whiskey neat.

Don’t let anyone tell you unaged spirits can’t be sipped neat, let your own palate decide for you.

I think I’m one of about 10 people still alive who love that song without irony. I'm off to visit Burnt Faith this afternoon, supposedly the first dedicated brandy distillery in London for 200 years. Or was that in the UK? Anyway, you get the idea.
