@ngaylinn Yeah the crypto stuff is annoying about #Brave, on the browser more than the search engine. I use Brave as a secondary browser (mostly for stuff that won't work with my hardened Firefox) for e-commerce etc. The search engine is worth a look, though for me I just missed DDG to be honest. The crypto stuff doesn't really have much to do with their search, from what I can see.

Un 'résumé' par IA est affiché en premier à partir du contenu des premiers liens. C'est aussi bon/pourrave qu'un résumé auto.

J'ai testé #mojeek auparavant et pas été convaincu par les résultats.

I am trialling #vivaldi and comparing with #brave and #Chrome
with Vivaldi on, the laptop fan is on permanently, once I switch it off, it is very peaceful...
As much as I would love to use #Vivaldi I will stick with #Chrome and #Brave ...
Any explanations? Running both on Windows 10.

I found #brave didn't work perfectly with #manjaro and that wasn't unique, so I have decided to move to #LinuxMint too.

I've used #MINT a few times over the years and it is really polished, everything works all the time.

I don't like that you have too enable the snap store by hand, but that's a tiny quibble, and I do understand why they made that decision.

I use DuckDuckGo. The #Brave chap endorses various kinds of unpalatable nonsense.

Quite frankly you can't throw a rock in computing without hitting someone with dreadful views that they believe they arrived at ab initio but wildly, happily, reinforce the status quo and their position in it.

Not what I expected but it gets the job done 😆😆😆

Now using #fedilab from my phone. Couldn't authorize it using #brave browser. Had to switch default browser to Firefox.

@magi premetto uso Firefox da quando non si chiamava Firefox. Però in questi giorni sto testando una versione che si chiama #Watwrfox. Devo dire del tutto simile a Firefox ma votata alla sicurezza e alla tutela della privacy. E utilizzo #brave per le traduzioni delle pagine web.

@msrosenberg I've been using ecosia.org for a while now and I am quite happy about that. The search is as exhaustive as in mainstream search engines, it's private and it's supposed to help planting trees.

I tried a bunch of solutions, from #Brave search to #DuckDuckGo, and #ecosia seems to be the most reliable.

Today I noticed that It's more than 1 year that I didn't search (nearly) anything on Google and I just used #DuckDuckGo and #Brave search for almost all of my needs. I remember that I was not that optimistic that I can replace Google with anything. This just surprised me. DuckDuckGo is really good enough for me as a software engineer with more than 30-40 queries per day.

Serwisy internetowe lubią reklamy i trackery, bo przynoszą im bejmy.

Użytkownicy ich nie lubią, bo są denerwujące i naruszają ich prywatność.

Więc jak radzą sobie przeglądarki z tym konfliktem?

Dobre przeglądarki: "zależy nam na was, więc wprowadziliśmy lepsze zabezpieczenia prywatności i możliwość blokowania reklam."

#Google: "zależy nam na was, więc wprowadziliśmy DRM, żeby można było zablokować użytkowników z blokerami reklam, a przy okazji naszą konkurencję. Widzicie? Obie strony zyskują: wy przestajecie tracić bejmy, a my robimy jeszcze więcej bejmów!"

#Brave: "może kompromisik? My będziemy blokować reklamy i trackery na stronach internetowych, i zamiast tego wyświetlać nasze własne!"
