VICTORY! The $1,154 check is heading our way after we went toe to toe with the warranty company. They were gung ho on a mid-grade replacement model (X90L) while we kept saying "just send us a check already!"
After hitting a wall yesterday, a supervisor finally told us that we could tell the original store where we bought the TV to "reject the offer," so we called their corporate office in LA and spoke with someone who was super helpful.

Thanks to @indiejeannie, who also had the idea of raising the TV a little bit. I found an awesome TV stand on Best Buy and the delivery guys assembled/mounted the TV on the spot.

Dead TV update: the warranty company (Amynta Group) has approved the repair. The parts should have been ordered by now, and will go directly to the technician. I asked the customer support person and she said that they will replace the power board AND the main board (!)

I’ve gone from a #Samsung to a #Sony, and when I turned the new one on for the first time, the first thing out of my mouth was “Woah!”
The Samsung wasn’t a crap one - 55in, 4K UHD smart TV with a curved screen - but this #Bravia kicks its arse.
Now watching #City kick West Ham’s in glorious quality.

That was all the reason we needed, so we bought a high refresh rate TV so our dog can watch TV too!

I'm struggling to get the colours to look decent and not washed but I'm apparently failing hard.

I'm still puzzled about why the #HDCP error would go away just by un/replugging the #HDMI cable between the #Roku and the #TrueMatrix switch, though. It sounds as though it should be a persistent error. (Which in fact it was when I tried to replace the cable between the #Sony #Bravia and the switch.. maybe I should have tried the one between the switch and the Roku. 🤔)

Why the flying moose ears does my #Roku Express 2 keep gritching about an #HDCP error every time it powers up? And not immediately, either; usually only after I connect to a service.
Unplugging the #HDMI cable from the Roku and plugging it back in solves the problem -- until the next time.
It plugs into an input on a #TrueMatrix 4×2 HDMI switch, the output of which goes to a #Sony #Bravia.
And changing the Roku-to-switch cable just made it worse.☹️
