In 1947 the #labour #government led by #clement #attlee cared so much about a formerly enemy population for which it was responsible that it introduced #breadrationing in the #uk - something the wartime coalition had not done. This was thought necessary to prevent #germans in the #british #zone from starving to death.
As far as I understand these included children. Nor, as far as I am aware of, was there any attention given to family size.
