It is so easy to get out of the habit of posting updates about #breakfastwithgrandmother - she is still doing well and I make breakfast for her more often than not but I burned out on tech and social shit and have yet to regain my footing. It will only happen by intention, I know.

Peaceful #breakfastwithgrandmother -biscuit, half with jelly and half with gravy, plus half a banana. And as I was washing up, a hawk came down and ate a small snake crawling across the driveway, and then as I left, the Blue Angels flew over in formation!

TheMrZee Joined us for #breakfastwithgrandmother this morning - she enjoyed the company and cheerfully ate while listening to us talk.

Another really excellent #breakfastwithgrandmother and that's a gift. She was so cheery, she actually lifted my mood. She ate half a biscuit with butter and jelly, and a small portion of biscuit with gravy. (Mom said applesauce is a nono. Ooops)

Yesterday was just a bunch of slogging along. Getting back to work was a bummer as I discovered I have to repeat previous training and this time I need it done by Thursday-took three weeks last go, so boo. Even family Minecraft felt more chorey than fun. But #breakfastwithgrandmother went well tho, and I was surprised to find her actually doing better than before we went on vacation.

Anywho. Today will be better, surely.

Today was gran's trip to the beauty shop so no #breakfastwithgrandmother. But Mom says she was still feisty about the shower yesterday "I am NOT taking a shower today"...

Today was shower day after #breakfastwithgrandmother. I began the talk while she finished eating; pushed her to get started before my mom arrived. Mom wasn't quite ready for it to happen but easier for me to do the heavy lifting and get gran in the shower.
Because gran HATES shower time. She will happily go months without bathing. (ew)

One of my customers once told me that dementia turns old people into cats. Finicky with their food, hissing at everything and afraid of water.

Gran was up setting the table when I arrived for #breakfastwithgrandmother -she asked for half of my applesauce again :) Finished it plus small biscuit with gravy. She swore she had a phone call* last night about a family member dying and was needing to have her hair done NOW for the funeral. I cheerfully said the funeral is Saturday and her hair apt is on Friday so she calmed down. *we disconnected her phone a year ago because of scam Medicaid calls, so yeah, just play along with her script

Spicy Grandmother! I walked in for #breakfastwithgrandmother this morning and she muttered something. I replied, well did you sleep good? She snaps back, "I SAID, DID YOU BUY ME SOME BREAKFAST!" Allllrighty then :p

There were deer in the back yard during #breakfastwithgrandmother -she was able to carry on a decent conversation about them while we ate :)

Another good #breakfastwithgrandmother - she ate decent, attempted conversation and walked a couple of laps.

Pleasant #breakfastwithgrandmother. TheMrZee ate with us & it was like a MadLibs game as gran tried to converse. She'd get nouns, verbs & adjectives in the right place, but random words made their way into sentences. We saw some deer & she was happy; that's the important thing.

Difficult #breakfastwithgrandmother -she was slow getting up. Then I realized she isn't wearing a Depends. In helping her dress, I retrieved half a dozen wads of tissue from her sweat pant legs -she crams them in her crotch instead of wearing a depends. Oooof.

She did eat a bit though. Nibbled a little biscuit and gravy. She asked for half of my apple sauce which she finished happily. Her feet/ankles are swollen and she has a blue-ish cast, which probably means her heart is sluggish today.

Pretty good #breakfastwithgrandmother, she ate well and did one lap of the hall. But I made her cranky by putting a flower in a glass she considers precious. I shouldn't have done that. Nope.

The 2nd tv remote has been missing for maybe 6 months. Today during #breakfastwithgrandmother I found it. Wrapped up in a hand towel...inside the electric skillet. Go me!
Gran was cheerful and ate well, too. Great morning.

Haven't updated in a few days, but #breakfastwithgrandmother is going better now. Her ankles aren't as swollen, her mind seems to be more engaged and she is eating better. She's even had enough energy to be cranky!

Excellent #breakfastwithgrandmother. She asked to watch TV (unfortunately the Murrow Bombing memorial was the onlhy thing on) She ate most of her breakfast before walking two laps and then settling down to watch the people's pictures on the TV. Ooof. "Look at those cute babies!"

No #breakfastwithgrandmother today because I made choices yesterday and was too busy to get my hair colored. So I did that before work today. It's all shiny!

It was an excellent #breakfastwithgrandmother! She was mentally with it, happy to be in her peaceful house, loved on Chipper and ate nearly all her breakfast! I noticed the swelling in her ankles is down too, so her body has righted itself for now. Every day is a gift.
