Mort Shuman's translations are controversial, but he did some great ones and he obviously loved, loved Brel. And interestingly enough the COMPLETE RIGHT TURNS like the brilliant Les Flamandes into "Marathon" those are awesome! Brel was in the movie so he must have thought it was okay enough, actually he appears in the movie WATCHING the "Marathon" puppet act.

JACQUES BREL IS ALIVE AND WELL AND LIVING IN PARIS is a movie - so many people don't like it! Film critics don't like it. Serious Brel heads don't dig it much. But I love it. It's basically a bunch of music videos and most of them are great, with a couple misfires.
