Two nights, two very different films, two Stellar performances.

Tar is a dirty film, brilliantly crafted and devastatingly performed by Blanchett.

The Whale is a film of love and redemption and has all the feels and Fraser's performance was spot on. What made this film even more emotional for me is having an obese parent who uses mobility aids and has difficulty moving like Brendan's character (unlike Brendan's character, she also has advanced arthritis); at times emotionally eats; and at times loses hope, particularly with her diabetes. I sat through this film in tears, just wanting to hug him, just wanting to hug my mother.

I love #brendenfraser. As a kid for #TheMummy, as an adult for #godsandmonsters. He was starting to get interesting and then he disappeared. I’m glad he is back.
