@Abstruse this will reduce the sweetness but the limiting factor is alcohol concentration (10-15%) which poisons the yeast. If you want something less alcoholic quench the reaction with sulfates before it stops bubbling.

I haven't tried or but I'm sure it won't end well. 😀
