On Radio 3 this evening at 7.30. Mark Elder and the Halle perform 'The Apostles' by Elgar. We attended all three of the Elgar oratorios performed by the Halle in Manchester,IMO this was the best of the three. World class soloists in Coote and Williams. Special mention for the Halle choir,nailed us to the back of the Hall!

Elder will be conducting the orchestra and the Halle Choir at the Bridgewater Hall in Elgar's Dream of Gerontius on Sunday 4th June. The Apostles follows on the 10th June and the Elgar festival is completed with a performance of The Kingdom on the 11th. Highly recommended if you are in Manchester!

I am familiar with Dvorak,and the Burgess played it as well as I have heard it.

A superb performance of Shostakovich 's 13th symphony at the Bridgewater Hall Manchester yesterday evening performed by the BBC Philharmonic .The BBC Phil under Storgards are building a solid reputation for their Shostakovich.

I saw Marc Almond and his band at the Bridgewater Hall. Great gig,it was quite a sight seeing an audience of mature years waving their arms in the air singing along to Tainted Love!

Last night, we went to see #Heilung perform at the #BridgewaterHall in #Manchester. I can't describe what we saw, other than that it was magical, like a pagan opera, if Iron Age people had operas.
