Though most of #Florida is known for its #humid #subtropical #climate (#KöppenClimateType #Cfa #HumidSubtropical), Florida has #native species of #cacti. The #OpuntiaAmmonphila, or #devilstoungue, is a #cactus native to Central Florida. It often grows on the landward-side of #beach #dunes. The cactus can withstand the #salt spray from the #ocean, and grow along the #briney #marshes, where salt-free #water is scarce. They produce dramatic #yellow #flowers.
