These trees are amazing! They are tough. They live in landscapes with little competition from other trees because they evolved to withstand some of the harshest conditions that other species won't tolerate. In GBNP they often grow along side (and are easilt confused with) LImber Pines. All verbiage on interpretative sign is in the photo captions!
