My verbal statement begins with this link: https://youtu.be/sGiEkPE3HcY?t=1386
I reiterated the benefits for society, health and maintenance of #cycling and #walking.
Wrapping things up (pun intended) with a cheeky limerick:
There once was a Mayor of #Bristol
He went on and on about metro
But he failed to see
A missed opportunity
To make Bristol safer to cycle
In response to my question, #BristolMayor will look at how London introduced a Lorry Direct Vision Standard, with a public report in January 2023.

Tomorrow I will read a statement in Bristol's monthly Council meeting to #BristolMayor about #SaferCycling in #Bristol. I will also ask a question about introducing a #DirectVisionStandard for #Lorries, following in the footsteps of #London. (There may or may not be a comparison between the #Simpsons #Monorail and the #BristolMetro) Link on YouTube for 2pm on Tuesday 13 December: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGiEkPE3HcY

Not everyone in Bristol is happy with the Mayor’s proposal to move the Central Library from its current site. Read the arguments and have your say, writes Julian Greenbank. https://westenglandbylines.co.uk/author/julesgreenbank/

Today I gave a statement to Bristol Council about the benefits of a comprehensive #Cycling network in #Bristol. Bristol Cycling Campaign brought a petition to Full Council calling for #SaferCycling and the #BristolMayor to publish a cycling delivery plan and strategy, as he committed in 2019. Bristollians have waited long enough! 🎤 All opposition parties agreed with the petition. Watch the full council meeting here: https://youtu.be/gEBLZFREplE
