Some final impressions from the after the campaign.

Great production and clean design. Great value - basically 4 games in 1 and each of them feels different in its own way. It could be a good entry point for people new to the COIN, rules are straightforward and initiative system is simplified but still fun. It should also provide good replayability, since there are starting options for each scenario and some cards are always excluded from the scenario.

I like the idea of the campaign stretched to multiple scenarios (although it seems to be pretty hard for the British, but I assume, that is historically accurate). For me personally there also two more big positives - scenarios are short and game is designed for two players.

So I definitely want to give the campaign another run and maybe learn something more about historical background which I neglected. Give it a try, from me both thumbs up!

Last game of the campaign - Cyprus. British fought valiantly, but in the end, they stood no chance and the campaign ended in the overall British defeat.

Scenario itself is pretty hard for the British imho. Only thing I found hard for the EOKA is the sabotage roll, but there are ways to mitigate it. Otherwise it plays in the similar way to the Palestine. No area control, opposition or resources.

Another game from the , this time Kenya scenario. Again altogether different mechanics in play. British have an opportunity to resettle population and Mau Mau bases its strategy on raiding from the mountains and they have no possibility to eliminate the British troops. Interesting asymmetry is, that British are not afflicted by resources in this scenario. Another difficult thing is, that guerillas are not hidden automatically after movement.

I would say, that I scored a minor victory as Mau Mau, but my wife fought pretty hard. I think we are both enjoying the campaign. So we are looking forward to the Cyprus.

Next game of , Malaya. It is more similiar to , with which I am familiar with. Malaya introduces control and support/opposition of spaces. My wife put up a hard fight and I luckily won because well played terror on the last card. British seem more powerful here, than in Palestine. I struggled little bit with what strategy should I pursue.

I got just two minor complaints - it is difficult to separate the terrain due to similar shades of green and it is hard correctly track the political will because you have to change it every time when the control is removed.

Otherwise great game and totally different experience from Palestine, we both enjoyed it. I like that once you know your strategy, the gameplay is pretty quick.

We finally got to play Palestine from the . First some general impressions about the game. I really love the production. New card design is pretty neat and I love the clean design of the maps. And I like the concept of the campaign.

My impressions from the Palestine game. It is pretty brutal for the British IMHO. Irgun can just run around the map and wreak havoc and it is pretty complicated for the British to mitigate the damage. Campaign events damaged British even more. So Irgun won during second propaganda. Next time I will probably switch sides with my poor wife, who played the British😅.
