Took this on iPhone. #brivelagaillarde station. But the Hotel Terminus facing the station was the HQ of the #Gestapo. Several #cheminots were dragged from the workplace, deported or executed. Its sign remains unchanged. 15/8/44 the Nazi garrison was militarily defeated and the town liberated by the #Résistance without allied help. #Brive as it was simply called back then was the first French town to overthrow Nazi occupiers in this manner.
