This is supposed to be strawberries. This area was rototilled and got very weedy very quickly.
The beds that I prepped with a broadfork have hardly any weeds.

These are my favorite gardening tools.
The #broadfork from Bully tools is a great addition this year.
The spading fork is indispensable for digging dandelion and dock.
The blue cultivator I bought at a yard sale for a few bucks. It's the last step in bed prep to break up and loosen any large clumps of dirt.

I have been using a broadfork instead of rototilling this year.
I am already amazed at the difference. There are fewer weeds and my plants look great. I got excellent germination of my carrots.

@wolvster I only bought one last year, they aren’t cheap, but I’m already a huge fan of the broadfork. It’s brilliant at aerating the soil without damaging the soil structure.

Disturbing the soil as little as possible is one of the things I swear by. It’s much better for your soil life. You will have far fewer weeds to deal with over time and the ones you have will be easier to clear. #NoDig #Broadfork #Allotment #Gardening
