My from 3 years ago, I still like how this turned out! Drawing objects in vector is oddly satisfying.

New study sheds light on Bronze Age family structures and genetics. Skeletons from a 3,800-year-old Russian steppe burial mound reveal polygamy for eldest brother, monogamy for others, and immigrant wives. Women had higher genetic diversity, indicating wider origins.

Currently deep diving on smelting practices to make sure the sandbox adventure I’m working on is a bit more authentic. With the premise of the setting being heavily inspired by the 20th century coal strikes/wars, I want to make sure I have a good understanding of how Bronze Age mining and ore processing worked to balance out the more modern influences. Is this kind of research overkill? Probably 😅 but I’m enjoying it, and I think it’s going to make for a much better adventure

The pottery of the Mycenaean civilization (1550-1050 BCE), although heavily influenced by the earlier Minoans based on Crete, nevertheless, added new pottery shapes to the existing range and achieved its own distinctive decorative style which was strikingly homogenous across Mycenaean Greece. worldhistory.org/article/455/m

Today I'm working on an adventure idea I've had kicking around for a while. The premise is a sandbox-style pointcrawl of a valley that is home to an exploitative mining guild, which I'm envisioning as a re-imagining of the early 20th century West Virginia Coal Wars. Factions include the guild, a nascent worker's union, and a local government hamstrung by the guild. It's a bit ambitious, but I'm very excited to flesh out this setting and see how it turns out

Tombs rich in artifacts discovered by expedition in

An archaeological expedition from the University of Gothenburg recently discovered tombs outside the trading metropolis in Cyprus. They rank among the richest ever found in the region. The precious tomb artefacts indicate that their occupants ruled the city, which was a centre for the trade in the period 1500–1300 BCE. idw-online.de/en/news818857
