When I was 8 or 9 I joined the cub scouts and became a Sixer. I'd rather have been a #brownie but they wouldn't let me join. Their uniform was better, they looked like they had more fun, and even at that age I preferred the company of girls to boys. #vss365

I gaze at the #barnacle on a rock I found by the sea years ago, tightly closed to a hostile #matrix, wishing I could close up like that.

But if the water never comes back, a #mind goes #crazy.

I take another #brownie and savour it.

A wild child, but close friends with #chocolate orange who, despite being from the rocky road side of the tracks but with airs and graces, was a solid influence.

Eschewing the safety of the family, ultimately Ferrero led chocolate orange astray.

Perhaps the outcome was inevitable but no less bittersweet for all that. Especially for Kate who ate chocolate orange.

The Brownie was a series of cameras made by Eastman Kodak. Released in 1900, it introduced the snapshot to the masses. It was a basic cardboard box camera with a simple convex-concave lens that took 2 1/4-inch square pictures on No. 117 roll film. It was conceived and marketed for sales of Kodak roll films. Because of its simple controls and initial price of $1 (equivalent to $33 in 2021) along with the low price of Kodak roll film and processing, the Brownie camera surpassed its marketing goal.
