@Vivaldi I'm curious: what do you think is the future sustainability model for , as we want to get away from the ad-based web? Is it donations? A monthly fee? I don't feel search engine and bookmark partnerships is the best, but I'm not sure ahah

Browsers each provide built-in video players for the <video> element. How accessible are they? @aardrian takes a look.

I'd like to add that in most cases you can circumvent most of the issues in websites requiring chrome by utilising a chrome user-agent. you can even have a dedicated profile for websites that are broken by more restrictive policies.
if nothing works, you can use a degoogled chromium browser. yes it's still chromium but using Firefox 95% of the time is much better than using it 0% of the time.

Firefox vs. Google Chrome | User PRIVACY BENCHMARK: :firefox: 100 :omya_google: 0

Source: the source code availability.

Yes: Google seem to have plans to turn web browsers into DRM software - completely restricting AD blocking.

How would you feel about that?

If one continues supporting Chrome / Opera / Microsoft Edge (without even a requirement for it) it can happen faster.

Spoiler: it's planned => stackdiary.com/web-environment

This is so unacceptable in 2023. (Or any date after the early naughties)

We need a based, web that can be accessed by standards compliant browsers of all types. We're sliding back into monopolies controlled by and who are untrustworthy shepherds of an open web.

testing out some and right now i think I'm set with . It's the same Firefox experience but faster.

Tried too, but first of all it's just a Chromium thing now, and I always found Opera's kitchen sink approach a bit overwhelming. It doesn't even come with a built-in P2P file sharing system anymore so it's not as fun.
