I hope the woman in the #BTWD t-shirt who bought too much at Whole Foods makes it home on her bike ok
I forgot to post my picture yesterday for bike to work day #btwd
In my case, it was really bike to metro (Annandale to Waterfront), then metro to work on the green line. I'm glad metro allows bikes on board during rush hour; I wouldn't want to leave this bike at a station all day!
This was my second trip with the Velo Orange crazy bars. The front horns imitate a position similar to being in the hoods on drop bars (easiest position for my wrists and previously broken elbow) and I'm getting more comfortable switching between the horns and the ends (I only have brakes and gears on the ends). #bikeDC
@erikcieslewicz I had to go to a different, smaller station because they stopped doing Freedom Plaza in DC. But yeah, my drawer is 50% #BTWD shirts.
Shirts for #BikeToWorkDay2023 are a little darker than bike lane green this year. Had to take a bikeshare because I left mine at work earlier this week. Wow, the ebike is fast! #BTWD #BTWD2023 #BikeDC #BikeTooter

For #btwd I discovered why metro doesn't allow bikes on stairs or escalators. I didn't want to miss the train so took the 40 pound ebike down a set on concrete stairs. I nearly wiped out twice.
Next time I'll wait for the elevator
Every wonder why cycling can be difficult in #Oakland, riding uphill, then down, then up again.
It's the geology of Oakland.
Blame it on the Fan during Bike to Wherever Day.
Part alluvial fan, from the streams, but mostly tectonic upheaval from the Pleistocene
The Fan gets its own chapter in new book #DeepOakland, by Andrew Alden

Bay Area #BTWD (bike to wherever day). We had over 20 riders leaving #Pleasanton at 6am. About half rode all the way to their offices in San Jose or Mountain View. The other rode the first 20 miles then came back to town (retired folks or WFH). Just like old times!
Don't think I've managed a single SF2G without getting lost. Anyway bike somewhere this month, but yeah maybe not this far. Good time to do it is May 18th, which is Bike to Wherever Day #btwd
