Just a few (white tailed?) deer relaxing in the grass at Johnson Space Center. They're protected on the JSC grounds, so they're incredibly chill for wild animals. It was about 100 °F (37 °C) when I took these, so most of the herd was sitting in the shade with the young buck. None of them batted an eye when I pulled off the road about 10 m from them.

È vero, credetemi è accaduto..
UNA VECCHIETTA MI HA AIUTATA AD ATTRAVERSARE LA STRADA!
Spè, spè.... prima di iniziare a ridere, vi racconto tutto, iniziando dal colpevole: #BUCK !!!
Il molesto cagnaccio dall'aria perennemente afflitta (fasullo, era un fasullo!) era tranquillamente in giro con me, quando ad un tratto, mi sono accorta che il suo pratino preferito era "in manutenzione", e con molta nonchalance cambio direzione, sperando che il triste cane non se ne accorgesse.
Me ingenua, me illusa, me tapina!
In men che non si dica, mi sono ritrovata con un cane che fingeva di zoppicare, che camminava tutto storto (manco fosse fatto di pongo!), e guardava in direzione del suo El Dorado, la sua terra promessa (un mondo diverso, dove crescere.. no niente, scusate per la divagazione!).
Ora immaginate la scena: io che praticamente trascino il cane per farlo camminare, lui che irrigidisce le zampe e che cammina in diagonale, e tutto questo, nel centro di Montecatini, in una strada trafficatissima.
In parole povere si rischiava di essere travolti.
Poi si palesa lei: LA VECCHINA
(forse un angelo, vestito da passante).
Tutta curva, col bastone, che incedeva a fatica... ebbene alla vista di tale scena, esclama:
"Oh, povero cane malato! Ti aiuto io!"
Io lancio un'occhiataccia al falso invalido, e dentro di me spero che continui a camminare storto, sennò l'avrei "stortato" io!
E poi i miracoli avvengono sulla 34ª strada, mica in Corso Roma!
Tornando alla vecchina, nel frattempo aveva sguainato la sua stampella neanche fosse la più letale delle spade, e tenendola in orizzontale, appongiandosi un po' a me, ha bloccato il traffico per permettere a un cane falso invalido e capriccioso di attraversare la strada!

Tu, vecchina ingenua, mia Cara signora, io spero che in questo momento tu non mi stia leggendo, ma in caso, sappi che hai la mia totale gratitudine per il bel gesto che hai fatto, ma in quel momento, visto il tuo entusiasmo e impegno, non ho avuto il coraggio di dirti che stavi aiutando un cane testardo come un mulo.

Grazie di vero cuore.

Even after all this time I'm still not a fan of #gradle. I use it because that's where the support is for #android development, but, on a purely build bases, #bazel and #buck are, in my experience, more robust build tools.

Today's "Nope, still don't like it" trigger was having a gradle build fail with "Gradle build daemon disappeared unexpectedly..." when the build has been specified as to not use a daemon. That's either poor parameter naming, or documented parameters being ignored.
