Took my regular short ride (only 30K but through 8 villages) on a cold, windy, bright day.

Stopped at the lovely 13th-century St. Nicholas church in Lillingstone Dayrell. The church is isolated on its own blind lane off the main road.

Manor Fram, opposite the church, looks barely touched since the 19th century. Nearby are derelict fishponds fed by springs and the river Leck. Evidence of past fish farming to provide winter protein is common around here.
