My polemical take on this is 99.9% of the #postmodernist and western #Buddhists I have meet and worked with have been at best a waste of space and at worst nasty and destructive... on a less polemical view, yes dogmatic "no such thing as reality" is likely the problem.

I am only familiar with #Theravada Buddhism so I went to a web board for #Mahayana Buddhism. According to the #Buddhists there it is a minor symbol among many minor symbols - for most types of #Buddhism.

The fact is that all #Buddhists moved away from the early versions of #Buddhism. All Buddhists now follow doctrines that were innovated in the post-canonical period. The so-called buddhavacana was never enough. Everyone abandoned buddhavacana for contemporary teachings which spoke to their own social conditions.
