So this soi-disant "AI" has been out since, like, November. Has it managed to come up with *anything* significantly useful to the good of society? I mean, it's fun to whip up weird album covers, but that to me keeps it well within 'toy' status. Anyone? #Bueller?

#Mastodon I’d like a moment of your #time by a show of hands. Today is 14 January 2023. We are already halfway through the first month of this year, and it appears/seems to me that time is speed up. It is moving so fast like being in a #timewarp or #wormhole. By a show of hands, does it feel this way to anyone else?
I’m paranoid that it’s a Death in the mirror and object is closer than it appears moment for me because I’m getting older and not sure if the speed factor is a reality.

An open question to fellow crossword geeks: I've seen various sources saying that today's Super Mega puzzle has 700-800 "clues" or "entries".

Even the NYT's own FAQ page for the puzzle indicates 782 entries. Other sources show similar though not identical counts.

I see 679 Across clues and 665 down. Does anyone know what the 700-ish counts signify?

had the most peculiar thing happen to my linux box.

the greeter would not accept my human input in the keyboard, and also my grub screen didnt want to accept the pushing of enter to boot the kernel.
