I took this 1mm mealybug off the seed-grown basil plant growing under the plant light. After shooting the video, I felt sorry for the bug, so I let it go outside.

Yesterday, I noticed the empty shell (skin?) of the ladybug on underside of the comfrey leaf. It rained all day, and I couldn’t find the bug.

I spotted the bug by the kitchen door this afternoon! The bug joyfully flew upward from my hand as soon as I stepped outside.

We spotted two beetle-looking insects on the trail at the Fells’ forest.

Here’s the insect no1: Prionus laticollis, also known as the broad-necked root borer (wiki)

… and I thought it was a beetle. 😄

I was trimming the comfrey at my community garden plot this morning, and realized one of the cut parts had a metamorphosing ladybug! So I took some home to let the bug morph.

So far, it’s the year of the ladybug for me. My plants need them for sure!

Yesterday, I saw another ladybug larva on our car as I was about to get in. I scooped her up and put her on my seedGrown grapefruit tree in the kitchen.

I just found her under one of the leaves, metamorphosing! 🤗😍💓🐞✨
