For those waiting on the upcoming #Bugzilla releases: As we've been doing the final release push we keep finding issues that we're not willing to release without them being fixed. I apologize for the continued delays, but you'll have a better product for it once we're done.
Due to the approaching holiday weekend in the US, we will not be pushing out the new #Bugzilla releases until at least Tuesday, Sept 5, even if we're ready to go sooner than that, so as to not make people come in on the holiday weekend to apply security patches.
The #Bugzilla releases that were supposed to be released today may be a day or two late. We had a person critical to the process get snagged by their employer for an emergency work trip, and it's taking longer without them. We'll keep you up-to-date here as the release approaches.
#Bugzilla, the popular bug-tracking system, has just turned 25! 🥳
To celebrate, Bugzilla project lead Dave Miller has announced the creation of a new legal entity that will oversee the Project (similar to how Thunderbird has been operating recently).

@bugzilla ok libera #bugzilla that simple !!! from https://www.bugzilla.org/contributing/
I've said this before but every time I'm flabbergasted about how bad at community engagement #Mozilla is. You ask a simple question and you get ignored, even though you're seeking information about something clearly broken. It's not even a hierarchy of engagement issue, they're just plain terrible. To the point a former contributor asked if they needed them to update a patch after the new tab tray broke things and they ignored them?! Mozilla is letting #Firefox down. And I still hate #Bugzilla!
Everyday I find a reason to hate #bugzilla more. It's cumbersome and ugly and not mobile friendly. Today I wanted to investigate whether the patches that fixed tab reordering for #FirefoxForAndroid landed and whether there was anything filed for the excessive battery brain I'm seeing. But ugh, I ended up giving up. #Firefox needs a strong community, but the community interfaces are such a turn-off. #Mozilla needs to do better.

I haven't said it for a while, but #Bugzilla is still a shite hangover from yesteryear that should be put out to pasture.
@aral I'm incredibly vocal in my criticisms of #Mozilla. Mozilla only champion #opensource as a means of getting free labour. They genuinely do not care about the community. You only need to look at the terrible software that is #Bugzilla being at the heart of their community facing effort. Honestly, if Mozilla cared more, they'd at least have a clear vision, which should simply be "open, private and modern interaction software". Before Al, we should get a software keyboard.

Testing out a new way for security incidents to be reported. Backend uses #Bugzilla. Go easy on the front end… I’m not a web designer! https://incidents.hostingintellect.com/report.php
@nicholasr if #ActivityPub can avoid the usual pitfalls of open source, it has a real chance. But if it does things like Apple first, not engaging with the community or using the patently shite #Bugzilla, it will just end up another open source project with huge potential
Dnes nová zkušenost s pokusem nahlásit chybu programu #LibreOffice #Writer Opakovaně selhání celého programu, fotím kdy se to stává a jdu hlásit chybu. #omg #wtf

Is it possible to subscribe to a #Bugzilla bug, and if so, how? I’m eagerly awaiting the day https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1658986 gets fixed, but I don’t want to keep visiting the site only to discover nothing has changed (which is what I’m doing now).
I've finally gotten the legal side taken care of for being able to accept donations for the #Bugzilla project. Just need to work out the accounting and technical side now. Soon!
Everyday I'm reminded of how shit #Bugzilla is. It really is an abomination.
I understand that it's cool to act like #GitHub isn't cool because Microsoft own it, but take the ownership away and it's by far the best user experience available. That's why casual contributions are so high on GitHub. #GitLab over complicates things. And the abomination that is #Bugzilla… don't even get me started; it doesn't even have a mobile interface. #Bugzilla is actually unfit for purpose. #Mozilla should be embarrassed. Oh and #SourceForge never recovered. For now GitHub reigns supreme.

Couple hours later, I finally have a #PHP script that will import emails into #Bugzilla as bugs. Also, I hate processing emails sent with Outlook. That's where 85% of my time was spent... 😔
But hey, it works! I just have to add logic to it and it'll be ready for me to go crazy!
@andy just the other day, I was tooting about #Mozilla moving from the pleasant mobile user experience of #GitHub to #Bugzilla and how that sucked. The point was to make another point, but I know that I have all analytics and telemetry blocked at the DNS level, so I'm often not counted.
