next milestone in the saga of this move: my #PC is officially unpacked, plugged in, and fully functional. still have to set up a few more odds and ends to make my home office feel “homey” again, but this is a great first step.

i have not yet set my #PC up at the new apartment. my desk is still in pieces, and the room that will be my home office is still the “overflow” room full of boxes. but on this lazy afternoon, i am really missing it! i’ll probably make it a point to try to clear out enough space over the next couple days so i can set it back up. it’s just so much work!

this is a photo from a simpler time when my #computer was actually set up and functional. it’ll be back soon, i swear! (swearing to myself, mostly.)

So I built a new PC over the weekend. It's running pretty well, I only hit one snag in the building process (forgot to plug the graphics card in).

Can you combine two “dual channel” memory kits? As in 2x a package of two sticks of 16gb. Memory is really cheap… #buildapc

Where do people buy computer parts now? Newegg used to be my go to, but it seems like they have had a corporate takeover and doesn’t seem like the great deal it used to be. Amazon seems riddled with fake merchants and I’d prefer to avoid them anyway if it’s reasonable.

Additions are #Nvidia #Quadro K420 #GPU, 380W #PSU, and of course two hard drives. Also added a multicard reader for moving movies off my camera. #buildapc #towerpc
