My short, final speech on the #BuildingSafetyBill this evening. Positive, but government needs a rolling review to listen to ongoing problems for leaseholders. How can we avoid being overly risk-averse? We certainly don't want the outcome of this to be less houses being built...
I was one of many who spoke at #BuildingSafetyCrisis rally last week. @HarryScoffin captures event so well. Understandable frustration from leaseholders: a better #BuildingSafetyBill will pass in parliament BUT still lots of major problems: fight not over! https://www.leaseholdknowledge.com/mps-join-leaseholders-at-protest-to-ensure-no-one-is-left-facing-building-safety-cash-calls/

RT @LiamSpender: 1/5 #buildingsafetybill Leader of the House of Commons announced this morning that Commons will be prorogued on 28 April 2022, provided all Bills have received Royal Assent by then.
On Tuesday 26 April 2022 the Lords is due to consider the Bill approved by the Commons yesterday.
RT @LiamSpender: #buildingsafetybill Commons is now considering Lords Amendments.
The debate may last until around 4.30 today.
In simple terms, the government will ask the Commons to vote to remove certain changes made by the Lords and provides alternatives.
