The Mitchell Library in Glasgow looking magnificent as ever in today's spring sunshine.
It was designed in the Edwardian Baroqie Style by WB Whitie and built in the early 1900s.

The Tollbooth Steeple at Glasgow Cross in Glasgow. I always love the way it catches the light when the sun in shining as it was yesterday morning. It dates from 1634 and is all that remains of the original Tollbooth building, most of which was demolished in 1921.

Today I went looking for a cat on a building in Govan, and found this rather wonderful dragon instead!
It's on the B listed Cardell Halls and Public House on Govan Road, Glasgow, which was buit in 1894.

Just another Glasgow tenement, complete with corner turrets. You don't really realise quite how ubiquitous turrets are of tenements in Glasgow until you start looking for them and then you realise that they're everywhere.

The Graham Square entrance to the former meat market in Gallowgate in Glasgow.
I love that fact that in the past, even the most functional of locations in Glasgow were deemed worthy of grand architecture. If only it were the same today.

This is probably the best example I've come across of how to fill a tenement gap site with a sympathetically designed newer replacement. It's on the corner of Woodlands Road and West End Park Street, and was built (as far as I can work out) in the late 1980s.
