The cloud version is fully automated and I receive all kinds of notifications about what is happening inside. Noice!
(Yeah, I host my own stuff with the cloud version - this is the ultimate test. 😁) #buildinpublic
Let's test it out - 14 days of trial. 🥼🧪
I implemented it in 2 hours (the first time doing it 😅), but I can dynamically change it anytime in a minute.
Also, will send out an email to invited but not subscribed people that a trial has been added.
Exciting. #buildinpublic
... but I imagine it looks pretty enticing on the app's features list.
Without it you'd get a simple list of meals to cook which, let's be honest, doesn't look as snazzy.
Removing it, on the other hand, will simplify two app screens and a bunch of meal planning logic.
What would you do? 2/2
Over the weekend I realised that I've slightly over-engineered my app.
I'm pondering whether to simplify it (and take the delay/progress hit), or leave it as is.
Right now, you can tell the app on which weekdays to plan meals for you.
It turns out that, surprise!, life is chaotic.
Things happen, plans change and you decide to cook something else. Or nothing at all.
Constraining meals to specific days doesn't match Reality™.
I could nuke this feature… 1/2
🤔Should I add a trial version (7 or 14 days) to https://coolify.io?
If the trial ends, all your deployed resources will be untouched, but no automation and no integration will work.

Aaah, that breathtaking pileup when closures sub for parameters, and trailing closure syntax kicks in! There's a bit of inception about it.
#buildinpublic getCelsius app: I built an intuitive feel for the 24-hour clock by changing all my clocks to it. I tried the same with Celsius, but am always asking Siri for a conversion. Maybe because the range is bigger? Less experiential 'hooks' into 20°C?

Managed to do some quality work today.
Almost finished the newsletter monitoring daemon. Still a lot of work, but it’s starting to shape up into something workable. Will continue tomorrow.
Has anyone switched from Google Workspace to #Nextcloud? Any tips or advice about the migration would be appreciated.

There is a magic in just showing up.
You come to the gym, you don’t want to workout. But you promise yourself to do the bare minimum. And you end up doing a full workout.
Same with side projects. Just do something small, and chances are you will get in the zone.
Past few days are mentally tough. Lots of moving around, the routine got annihilated, sad realization about moving forward (will talk about it more tomorrow).
Will hit gym today, and try to get some work done on the project.

I've been working on transcoding uploaded tracks to MP3 this afternoon for https://jam.coop.
Conveniently both render and github actions make `ffmpeg` available in their ruby images, so I've been able to use ffmpeg fairly easily to generate variable bitrate mp3s (e.g. https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/Encode/MP3).

Added some validation to the CouchDB database so that "creative users" can't abuse it to store arbitrary documents. I'm thinking about whether I should have an open API. Does anyone have any experience with opening up their API?
A new feature will be landing in the next release!

It’s a bit sad that certain people/tech accounts resort to promotion through mocking.
The amount of ego overinflation among tech people, is saddening me. I don’t want to be a part of such community.
