You'll likely need to read datasheets then, but otherwise they're great if you need some silent or .

@ubuntu / , @bunsenlabs / and even @tails / just run fine on those.

@stepfister @billgoats @Raspberry_Pi @bunsenlabs @ubuntu @tails Like , that is too a -based distro and also a fine choice.

Some people may even find or @linuxmint a good option when it comes to providing a hassle-free unit when one wants a and not just a option similar to which is a offering...

@billgoats I recommend something like a for those that want to poke with on the .
You can get one used with 4 GB RAM, WiFi and power supply for less than a @Raspberry_Pi or at MSRP.
It'll run anything from for and distros like @bunsenlabs to @ubuntu LTS and even @tails .
Tho will feel very slow on it.
But with something like it's fine.

@fuzztech @volpeon @ubuntu np.

One core advantage that @bunsenlabs has is that it not only takes :debian: stable packages but also supports "Load into RAM" and then runs from a blazigly fast , which makes it even snappier on machines > 4GB RAM...

@KarlHeinzHasliP or just start them off with a @Raspberry_Pi Kit if one can afford it.

If not, some PC/Laptop with some beginner-friendly distro [I'd recommend @ubuntu for both the community and commercial support (incl. 3rd party apps and games)]...

And if you're really tight on budget, you may find some old or that'll run fine with @bunsenlabs and/or ...

Refurbished my Samsung Chromebook 3 (XE500C13) and put on it. I was a huge fan of Crunchbang#! back in the day. Glad to see there have been some from that community who have carried the torch. I should probably jump back into the forums and start helping and sharing with other users again! (Though it did cross my mind to try ArchBang, 😆 .)

Has anyone successfully replaced the battery on a 2017 (eve)? If so, which battery did you use?
Also, has anyone had any success running either vanilla or on the Pixelbook 2017? I'm staring at the AUE of June 2024 and thinking it might just be worth it to run a standard distro on it. Currently reading through this: wiki.debian.org/InstallingDebi
