I've always been a fan of #SocialMedicine and having to use the US insurance system for the first time, I will say it's expensive but they are so efficient, no waiting times just get it done, i guess similar to what #Bupa was (private medicine in UK)

Truely, if I didn't have a reasonably well paid job and savings the simplest of issues world bankrupt me... And that scares the crap out of me. Not for long term illness... I'm heading home for that, but but the rest, 100% on having employment with a healrh care plan... Locked in to working for the man!

#BUPA is closing nearly 100 dental practices, primarily due to the lack of #dentists to recruit... this is (at its most basic) another aspect of the lack of investment in #healthcare, this time around #training and/or #education.

The wreckers on our Government have had a busy decade & their work is becoming ever more obvious...

How my day is going;

Medical Center: "We've cancelled your appointment tomorrow, that you booked 4 weeks ago, due to a doctor being unavailable"

Me: "How do I know one will be available for when I reschedule?"

MC: "We have lots of doctors!"

Me: "Can I move tomorrows appointment to another doctor"

MC: "No, we only have one doctor on Tuesdays and they've already 'phoned in sick"

🤦‍♂️

I wonder how many of the "lots of doctors" only work one day a week/fortnight/month.

Considering this “home” is being run by #Bupa. It’s laughable. They’re supposed to have this amazing reputation and all I see is the same old story!

Digging through old photo prints and I came across some photos from the #CorporateGames party held at #StJamesPark, #NewcastleUnited's home, in 2002. That's me on the left, as #Zao, from the #JamesBond film, #DieAnotherDay. Pretty ironic that I added fake #scars to an already mega-scarred face! I did the 20km #cycling leg of the #TeamTriathlon that morning, in #SouthShields. We finished 3rd and gave #Bupa their first medals of the games. On the right is my good friend and former colleague, Nik, a #hockey coach and nut! Not sure who or what he went as.
