I‘d like to see/write an hybrid of an #osr / #d20 adventure game which also features a solid life path mechanic. Think #Traveller or #BurningWheel
The game would take social class seriously. I like to think of #osr PCs as folks moving along the fringes of society, anyway. Armed to the teeth & highly mobile, they operate to some extent outside the social order: misfits, swords for hire, spendthrift soldiers of fortune…

#rpgaday2023 day 25. An #RPG I own but haven't played.

As with others in this thread, this is a depressingly large category for me as I'm very time poor for #ttrpg play atm (two gorgeous small children but free time is minimal these days). I'll go ahead and post the Mouse Guard RPG. It looks awesome and the #burningwheel engine is something I've wanted to give a spin (hueh) for ages. Hopefully I will find some time and a group for it one day

But, I think of CORE Micro; I only played one session but the system provides for significant input from all players of the game. The tests/checks of CORE Micro have one of six responses:

- No and (it's worse)
- No
- No but (it's not so bad)
- Yes but (it's not perfect)
- Yes
- Yes and (it's even better)

GMs answer the "No" and other players describe the "Yes."

@glenthefossa my favorite system overall in this aspect, however, is #BurningWheel. The direct tie of narrative goals and player input toward conflict to mechanical advantages plays very well.

Okay, I need some #ttrpg / #indiettrpg back in my life. Anyone with US East evening or weekend availability interested in putting something together, or have a spot at a virtual table?

I just read through my copy of the Burning Wheel Anthology 2021, and now I'm itching to play me some BW for the first time in a while.

I'm also very intimidated by the mass battle rules. But I do think it'd be neato to run a game where the PCs start out as footsoldiers in a not terribly impressive unit, and see where they can go from there, adding on more components of the war rules as needed.

Playing a dwarf in a Burning Wheel game and I have to admit, at first I was a little meh on the idea.

But as Burning Wheel characters do, this utter jerk-ass dwarvish exile grifter has really grown on me. I look forward to his ratlike-escape-from-a-dicey-situation or his ignoble death, whichever comes first.

A very good friend of mine plans to launch a #Greyhawk ❤️campaign in late summer/autumn. I will be a player in his campaign, which makes me excited bc I dm most of the time. We will use the elegant #shadowdarkrpg rules set. Tonight, we‘ll create characters. My friend already developed a little life path mechanic, which he plans to add to the SD chassis. I made fun of him, pointing out that he is about creating some weird chimera of #BurningWheel and #Shadowdark. Shadowwheel? Looking forward

@glenatron I’ve read through #burningwheel several times. Never had the chance to run/play. I would love either. I’ve found the game to be very polarizing for many people: either love or loathe it.
