BIG SCIENCE NEWS: #NewSpecies of adorable #insect 🪳 found in #WudjariCountry. The pea-sized stink bug resembles the spiky leaves of its host plant (Hakea sp.). Midway into a #fish survey on behalf of #BushBlitz yesterday I got bitten by an inchman ant 🐜 (just look at those mandibles!). On LEFT (in photo 1) is my hand 13 hrs after 2 antihistamines, 2 steroids and a trip to the emergency room, ugh! Adding inchman venom to a growing list of things in nature Im #allergic to that’s REALLY inconvenient when my job involves working with nature, often in very remote areas 🙄
