Separation anxiety
Do separation toilets really work? Otherwise known as 'composting toilets' these units can replace chemical or maceration toilets in caravans and RVs. We tested an Airhead unit while out bush camping for three months and the results were very positive.

sOLAR BLANKET REVIEW UPDATE
Looking again at our HardKorr 200w solar blanket and how it coped with three months hard travel in the outback.
Hardkorr solar panels
The fact of the matter is... there are TWO types of camper in the world. There are most folks who go out for a weekend here and there and who have a two-week trip to the bush maybe once or twice an year; and t

*Is it really possible to work while you’re ‘on the road’, while you’re out bush camping? is it possible to do your job effectively and earn a living as you travel?? The answer is both yes and no. Firstly, it’ll depend on what your job actually entails. If you’re working full-time at home already, and have all the digital infrastructure and support to do so comfortably set up, the transition should be relatively painless. If you have a suitable vehicle which you can turn into a home-office on wheels, with high-speed connectivity and enough power to keep your devices running, well, you’re mostly there.*

Is It Possible To Work Effectively ‘On The Road’?
reflecting on THE POSSIBILITIES OF LIVING AS A 'DIGITAL NOMAD'.
We're bush camping in far west NSW, Australia, on the shores of a small billabong, close to the mighty Barka-Darling river. As we finish up our breakfast, with our camping table placed righ

A Bush Curlew (*Burhinus grallarius*) in the Atherton Tablelands, QLD. These can seem incredibly tame, since their technique to avoid potential predators is to remain motionless. They're pretty common up North and we seen (and heard) lots; but I have never seen any on the more populated SE coast. Their cries at night are extremely spooky.

rose isle on the darling
Emus spotted from our riverside camp side at Rose Isle, outback NSW.
In the evening, as the sun sets slowly over the tree tops, the birds gather to celebrate the passing of the day. Red-tailed Black Cockatoos, resplendent in their ornate plumage, shriek from the upmost branches of a dead gum tree, and perform

What Campers Need From A Good Bush Campsite
When chatting with the manager of an excellent (paid) bush camp site, as our trip neared its end, we were asked for our feedback on our camping experience. 'What makes a good bush camp site?' wondered the manager. She wanted to know how she could make her site more attractive to prospective campers, and what t

Starlink for RVs - will it enable Australians to work on the road? Possibly, but it does have drawbacks...

Real-world review of Starlink RV - it works, and works well even in remote regions, but has some serious issues off-road, mainly the fact that the hardware is the same 240V version as for a domestic installation: https://slowcamping.com.au/index.php/2023/01/05/starlink-solving-connectivity-issues-when-working-on-the-road/

@unfnknblvbl Unfortunately #Rivian's links to #Amazon make me think that, no matter how much they screech their green credibility... they're still collaborating with (or enabling) an evil empire. It would be so much better if they weren't.
