The main problem is that the local bubble is a, well, bubble. Inside the bubble the density of interstellar hydrogen is a pathetic one-tenth compared to the rest of the galaxy.

The rest of the problem is the local bubble is about four hundred freaking light years in diameter, and the solar system is close to the center.
