@CloudyMrs I use the bus a lot and the number of young people on the buses now is really striking. Coincidentally, after the Scottish Govt rolled out the free bus pass for young uns. Oddly, there’s been no coverage in the press of its success

Pleased to see an extension to the bus fare capping scheme, limiting the cost of single journeys to £2/bus regardless of distance. It's still only temporary though where simplified and lower pricing like this should become permanent. It doesn't solve all the problems of bus travel and the price for shorter journeys might still be too high particularly for groups and/or multiple buses but it's a step in the right direction.

This is a much better choice than free parking, which is traditionally a "thing" in the lead-up to Christmas. It's a shame it will only be on one Saturday, but it's a step in the right direction and shows a shift in thinking. Other councils should take note.
